Description
Rather peaceful fish to other species of the same size. To smaller fishes they are rapacious and they will eat them. You should keep them as a pair. The aquarium should be set up with rocks and stones that make caves. A territory is made.
Food
You should give them powerful live food such as Artemia and mosquito larvae. In their natural habitat they feed on snails.
Breeding
Breeding is rather easy. The eggs are laid and fertilized in a hole. The eggs and later the fry are defended by both parents. You can raise the young with baby brine shrimp.
Compatible with
Ideal tank mates include other aggressive African Cichlids and African Catfish of the genus Synodontis.
