Description

This predatory schooling fish should be kept in a large aquarium together with other large fishes. They think smaller fishes are food. The aquarium should be planted on the sides and background. In the middle you should leave a large open swimming area. You should cover the aquarium very well because they are good jumpers.

You should give them large live food such as fish.

 

Breeding

It would have to be classified as not bred in captivity. I have read a few accounts that they have been bred but it seems to be a sporadic occurrence and only happened in huge aquariums. No reference on the care of the fry, just that large amounts of eggs are scattered among the plants

 

Compatible with

A large and predatory fish that should not be kept with smaller fish. Only keep with similar-sized or larger robust fish. This fish should be kept singly or in groups of 8 or more to spread any aggression.
